I am a freelance Japanese to English translator, as well as content writer. Previous clients include NHK Japan Broadcasting Corporation, JazzDanmark the Natural Resource Defense Council and a variety of galleries and artists. I translate work about a variety of topics including Japanese traditional arts, music, visual arts, economics, business and science. Please see a selection of past translation projects below.

I am always looking for new opportunities. Please contact me with any and all translation, editing and interpretation projects.

Tohoku Seaside Kitchen

I was the project translator, proofreader and adviser for NHK's Tohoku Seaside Kitchen program. This multimedia program is designed to introduce foreigners to regional Northeast Japan (Tohoku) food culture. I translate short articles about specific dishes and then write the voiceover script for the accompanying one minute video. On the day of the narration recording, I liaise between the Japanese NHK staff members and the foreign voiceover talent. The first video of the series, when posted on NHK World's Facebook page, garnered 52,000 views.

In addition to these two projects, I have also done many other translations for NHK including translations of scripts and speeches and of science and technology related articles.
JazzDanmark
Opposite 2017
I worked on the translation for JazzDanmark's international music event, Opposite 2017. In commemoration of the 150th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Denmark and Japan, JazzDanmark conducted a series of concerts and events in Japan and Denmark.
